Creating balance and comfort in your home.

Setting the mood and creating the environment in your home, to suit how you are feeling can be a valuable benefit to supporting your wellbeing.

It’s a way to foster a safe, comfortable space that will allow you to unwind (or recharge) in a meaningful way.

So what are some of the ways that you can use essential oils and aromatherapy to do this?

Top 4 ways you can use aromatherapy and essential oils to create the mood you want in your home.

1) Essential Oil Diffusion

What is diffusion and how does it work?

Diffusing is using essential oils to disperse fragrance/aroma into the air.

When you diffuse essential oil into the air, the molecules inhaled travel to your lungs and limbic system via your nose. They are then absorbed into your bloodstream and travel throughout your body.

There are many ways to diffuse:

  • Personal Inhaler sticks⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Steam Inhalation⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Inhalation Patches⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Diffuser Jewelry⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Ultrasonic or Nebulizing Diffusion

For your home and large areas, you will want to use an ultrasonic or nebulizing diffuser.  This is a powerful way to infuse your home with aroma and set the mood.

I love to diffuse according to my mood.  If I am stressed out and need to relax, I choose a calming blend.  If I need a little energy boost, I choose bright, uplifting oils.

A word of caution if you have pets.  Oils can sometimes be harmful to your furry friend.  Before diffusing, check to make sure that the oil used is safe for them.  Always allow them to leave the room if they need to.

2) Room Sprays

Room Sprays are an excellent way to brighten up a room. I particularly love to use room sprays in the kitchen and bathroom to deodorize and freshen up the space.

We recommend you use our room sprays on linens and sheets to create a relaxing environment and set the mood before bed.

Our eucalyptus room spray makes an excellent shower spray if you want to freshen up the bathroom, support your sinuses and create a powerful aromatic experience.

2) Resin Diffusion

Resins are a unique and different way to add aroma to your room.  I really got into them a few years ago and realized the magic of them!

To diffuse resin you would use a resin burner like the one shown below. You add a teaspoon or so of the resin to the burner and turn it on. It is that easy.

A combination of frankincense and myrrh resin is my favorite blend. An earthy, woody balancing aroma that infuses my home with peace.

4) Wax Melts

Wax melts are a great way to experience scents in a smaller area.  They are available as an electric plug-in or a candle-powered version.

I love mine because it plugs into the wall and can be used as a night light. This can also be a gentle way to have a little scent in your small child’s room.

I do not recommend diffusers in a child’s room at night, because it can be too overpowering.  Using a wax melt in small amounts is a great way to substitute a diffuser.
